Singer Davido and his new girlfriend, Mya Yafai, share a hot kiss at a party

Just when you have seen it all and nothing else can faze you! Popular Nigerian singer, Davido has unveiled his new relationship and girlfriend amidst the rumors surrounding them these past few weeks. The new boo is an American lady known as Mya Yafai, and is an Atlanta-based model.

In the new photos spotted, Davido and his new girlfriend, Mya Yafai, melted hearts as they were seen locking lips at a party in the US.
So it seems that Chioma's ‘Assurance’ has been tossed into the dust bin. Now, this is a total disrespect to Chioma... David can and needs to do better. I still don’t get why he would show Chioma to the world as the one and then do this which begs the million-dollar question: what do men want? It is a sad development but I hope she can learn from this and move on with her life.

Man Burnt to Ashes for Talking Against Prophet Muhammad

4BrothersFamily reporters learnt that Mai Ruwa was dragged away from his house on Tuesday in the presence of his mother and burnt to death in the middle of the community

Irate youths backed by leaders in Sade community in the Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State have burnt a man identified as Talle Mai Ruwa, to death for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad.
Eyewitnesses shared gory pictures of the incident with 4BrothersFamily reporters which showed the middle-aged man covered with tyres and set on fire. The witnesses stated further that the youths contributed money to buy petrol to set Mai Ruwa ablaze.

"The young man was killed by a mob in Sade town for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad. He was dragged from his house by a mob and forcibly set ablaze after being tied to an old car tyre.

"The village youths donated money to buy the petrol that was used to burn and kill Talle Mai Ruwa," a resident narrated.

Another source told 4BrothersFamily Reporters that some youths had earlier dragged the deceased before Islamic clerics where he was asked questions.

After the questioning session, the clerics reportedly told the crowd that Talle Mai Ruwa deserved to be killed.

"The mum stood and watched while fire consumed Talle Mai Ruwa until he was reduced to ashes," he lamented.

Some residents of the town told 4BrothersFamily Reporters that Talle Mai Ruwa had been going through unspecified type of mental illness.

This is not the first time that people in northern Nigeria would be passing a death sentence on someone for alleged blasphemy.

In August 2020, a musician in Kano was sentenced to death by hanging for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad.

An upper Sharia court said Yahaya Sharif-Aminu, 22, was guilty of committing blasphemy in a song he circulated via WhatsApp in March.

Mr Sharif-Aminu did not deny the charges.

Judge Khadi Aliyu Muhammad Kani said he could appeal against the verdict.

Also in September 2020, the United Nations Children's Fund condemned the sentencing of a 13-year-old for blasphemy.

Peter Hawkins, the UNICEF Representative in Nigeria, described as wrong the sentencing of Omar Farouk to 10 years in prison.

Sharia law court found Farouk guilty of using "disparaging language against Allah" while arguing with a friend.

Farouk is among many others who have been tried under Sharia law.

Osimhen, Etebo, Onuachu Score as Super Eagles Defeat Lesotho in Final AFCON 2021 Qualifying Match

The Super Eagles of Nigeria had an easy 3-0 win over the Crocodiles of Lesotho in their final AFCON 2021 qualifying match at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

Gernot Rohr's men had already qualified for the tournament but played for pride as the Nigerian national team return to Lagos after more than two decades.

Nigeria's first chance of the game came in the 8th minute when Samuel Chukwueze advanced Oghenekaro Etebo. The Galatasaray man delivered a low rocket which left goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane sprawling.

The Super Eagles took the lead in the 23rd minute through Napoli man Victor Osimhen who took advantage of a slack defense before flicking the ball into the net. 1-0.

Lesotho put the ball into Nigeria's net through Marabe who scored, but referee signalled offside.

And five minutes into the second-half, Osimhen got the better Basia Makepe and then set up Oghenekaro Etebo who poked home leaving goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane hapless in goal. 2-0.

The Eagles would have grabbed 8  yet another goal moments later after the rampaging Chukwueze ghosted past his man, set himself up before rifling his shot over the bar.

In the 66th minute, a delicious cross was delivered by Tyrone Ebuehi which almost found Victor Osimhen, keeper Sekhoane Moerane was swift to punch into safety.

Desperate for more goals, coach Gernot Rohr made two attacking changes in the 76th minute bringing on Paul Onuachu and Henry Onyekuru to replace Victor Osimhen and Alex Iwobi respectively.

And after being on the pitch for barely seven minutes, Paul Onuachu controled a perfect pass from Kelechi Iheanacho and blasted it home to complete the rout, it ended Nigeria 3-0.

Iwobi was said to have tested positive for coronavirus on March 27, hours before Nigeria face Benin and was consequently out of the cracker.

Upon arrival in Benin Republic, the entire Super Eagles squad underwent the mandatory Covid-19 tests and Iwobi's result was said to be positive.

Coach Santos decides on Ronaldo’s status as Portugal captain after outburst

Portugal coach, Fernando Santos, has decided he will not take Cristiano Ronaldo off captaincy duties despite his outburst during their side’s 2-2 draw against Serbia in a UEFA World Cup Group A qualifier last weekend.

Ronaldo stormed off the pitch seconds before the final whistle and got booked for dissent after he was denied a stoppage-time goal against Serbia on Saturday.

The Juventus forward was left fuming when his effort was cleared by Serbia defender, Stefan Mitrovic after it had crossed the line.

However, referee Danny Makkelie waved on the play and there was no VAR or goal-line technology to check the call and Ronaldo threw away the captain’s armband as he headed towards the tunnel.

Asked if Ronaldo will retain the captaincy when Portugal tackle Luxembourg on Tuesday, the Santo told reporters at his pre-match press conference: “Yes, he will keep the armband. Forever. “Cristiano (Ronaldo) is a national example

“If he had offended the manager, his team-mates or the federation in a thoughtless attitude, then we would have to address the situation. But nothing like that happened.

“It was a moment of huge frustration. And we are talking about a player who is unbeatable when it comes to his eagerness to win.

“Nobody will say now that his reaction was beautiful, but there is no point to discuss if Cristiano should remain the captain. That is something I want to be very clear about.”

Manchester City legend, Sergio Kun Aguero announces exit from the club at the end of the season

Manchester City star legend, Sergio Kun Aguero has announced he will leave the club at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old striker's contract expires at the end of the season and he has been told it will not be renewed after making 14 appearances so far this season due to injuries and illness.

The Argentine international, who signed from Atletico Madrid in 2011, has scored 257 goals in 384 appearances for the club.

"When a cycle comes to an end, many sensations arise," Aguero said in a statement. "A huge sense of satisfaction and pride remains in me for having played with Manchester City for a whole ten seasons—unusual for a professional player in this day and age.

"... As for myself I will continue to give it my utmost for the rest of the season with more titles and bring more joy to the fans. Then a new stage with new challenges will begin, and I am fully ready to face them with the same passion and professionalism that I have always dedicated to continue competing at the highest level."

He will be honoured by a statue at Etihad Stadium, alongside Vincent Kompany and David Silva, who left the club in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: “Sergio’s contribution to Manchester City over the last 10 years cannot be overstated. His legend will be indelibly etched into the memories of everyone who loves the Club and maybe even in those who simply love football.

“This is not yet the moment for farewell words and speeches. There is still much to achieve in the remainder of the time we have with Sergio, and we look forward to his contributions to the challenges which lay ahead.

“In the meantime, it gives me great pleasure to announce that we will be commissioning an artist to create a statue of Sergio to live at the Etihad Stadium alongside the ones under construction for Vincent and David. And we look forward to the opportunity to bid Sergio a fitting farewell at the end of the season.”

The Argentine striker has helped City win four Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and five League Cups over his 10-year stay, with the club still chasing a quadruple this season.

Aguero is also City's record goalscorer, with 257 goals in 384 appearances for the club, having surpassed Eric Brook's 78-year record in 2017.

Secession: Osinbajo drops message for Igboho, Asari-Dokubo, Akintoye

Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has warned Sunday Igboho, Asari Dokubo, Prof. Banji Akintoye and others agitating for secession of Nigeria to have a rethink.

Osinbajo spoke on Monday at the 12th Bola Tinubu colloquium held in commemoration of Tinubu’s 69th birthday in Kano.

The Vice President, who spoke virtually, as he could not make it to Kano due to bad weather, said if Nigeria was to be broken down into smaller countries, one would need a visa to come to Kano.

He, however, said Tinubu, had become an institution in Nigeria due to his peculiar and distinguished leadership style.

According to Osinbajo, there had been no Nigerian leader that has been instrumental in raising other leaders as Tinubu had done in the last few decades.

He added that Tinubu believed that economic, social and cultural development depended on enabling a caucus of ideas which he had encouraged in the last few decades.

Osinbajo stated: “Also central to his leadership style is the fact that he is able to lead a vast array of persons with diverse views and is completely comfortable in engaging in diverse ideas ranging from political to religious debates.”

In his words: “For the purveyors of breaking up into small components, into small countries, perhaps they should be reminded that we would not have been able to accept Governor Ganduje’s offer to come to Kano at a short notice since we would all have needed visas to come to Kano.”

Pope Palm Sunday Homily: Full Text

Pope Francis opened Holy Week celebrating the Palm Sunday liturgy in St Peter's Basilica without a congregation. The full text of his homily follows.

Celebration of Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord
Homily of His Holiness Pope Francis
Saint Peter’s Basilica
Sunday, 5 April 2020

Jesus “emptied himself, taking the form of a servant” (Phil 2:7).  Let us allow these words of the Apostle Paul to lead us into these holy days, when the word of God, like a refrain, presents Jesus as servant: on Holy Thursday, he is portrayed as the servant who washes the feet of his disciples; on Good Friday, he is presented as the suffering and victorious servant (cf. Is 52:13); and tomorrow we will hear the prophecy of Isaiah about him: “Behold my servant, whom I uphold” (Is 42:1).  God saved us by serving us.  We often think we are the ones who serve God.  No, he is the one who freely chose to serve us, for he loved us first.  It is difficult to love and not be loved in return.  And it is even more difficult to serve if we do not let ourselves be served by God.

But how did the Lord serve us?  By giving his life for us.  We are dear to him; we cost him dearly.  Saint Angela of Foligno said she once heard Jesus say: “My love for you is no joke”.  His love for us led him to sacrifice himself and to take upon himself our sins.  This astonishes us: God saved us by taking upon himself all the punishment of our sins.  Without complaining, but with the humility, patience and obedience of a servant, and purely out of love.  And the Father upheld Jesus in his service.  He did not take away the evil that crushed him, but rather strengthened him in his suffering so that our evil could be overcome by good, by a love that loves to the very end.

The Lord served us to the point of experiencing the most painful situations of those who love: betrayal and abandonment.

Betrayal.  Jesus suffered betrayal by the disciple who sold him and by the disciple who denied him.  He was betrayed by the people who sang hosanna to him and then shouted: “Crucify him!” (Mt 27:22).  He was betrayed by the religious institution that unjustly condemned him and by the political institution that washed its hands of him.  We can think of all the small or great betrayals that we have suffered in life.  It is terrible to discover that a firmly placed trust has been betrayed.  From deep within our heart a disappointment surges up that can even make life seem meaningless.  This happens because we were born to be loved and to love, and the most painful thing is to be betrayed by someone who promised to be loyal and close to us.  We cannot even imagine how painful it was for God who is love.

Let us look within.  If we are honest with ourselves, we will see our infidelities.  How many falsehoods, hypocrisies and duplicities!  How many good intentions betrayed!  How many broken promises!  How many resolutions left unfulfilled!  The Lord knows our hearts better than we do.  He knows how weak and irresolute we are, how many times we fall, how hard it is for us to get up and how difficult it is to heal certain wounds.  And what did he do in order to come to our aid and serve us?  He told us through the Prophet: “I will heal their faithlessness; I will love them deeply” (Hos 14:5).  He healed us by taking upon himself our infidelity and by taking from us our betrayals.  Instead of being discouraged by the fear of failing, we can now look upon the crucifix, feel his embrace, and say: “Behold, there is my infidelity, you took it, Jesus, upon yourself.  You open your arms to me, you serve me with your love, you continue to support me… And so I will keep pressing on”.

Abandonment.  In today’s Gospel, Jesus says one thing from the Cross, one thing alone: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mt 27:46).  These are powerful words.  Jesus had suffered the abandonment of his own, who had fled.  But the Father remained for him.  Now, in the abyss of solitude, for the first time he calls him by the generic name “God”.  And “in a loud voice” he asks the most excruciating question “why”: “Why did you too abandon me?”.  These words are in fact those of a Psalm (cf. 22:2); they tell us that Jesus also brought the experience of extreme desolation to his prayer.  But the fact remains that he himself experienced that desolation: he experienced the utmost abandonment, which the Gospels testify to by quoting his very words: Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?

Why did all this take place?  Once again, it was done for our sake, to serve us.  So that when we have our back to the wall, when we find ourselves at a dead end, with no light and no way of escape, when it seems that God himself is not responding, we should remember that we are not alone.  Jesus experienced total abandonment in a situation he had never before experienced in order to be one with us in everything.  He did it for me, for you, to say to us: “Do not be afraid, you are not alone.  I experienced all your desolation in order to be ever close to you”.  That is the extent to which Jesus served us: he descended into the abyss of our most bitter sufferings, culminating in betrayal and abandonment.  Today, in the tragedy of a pandemic, in the face of the many false securities that have now crumbled, in the face of so many hopes betrayed, in the sense of abandonment that weighs upon our hearts, Jesus says to each one of us: “Courage, open your heart to my love.  You will feel the consolation of God who sustains you”.

Dear brothers and sisters, what can we do in comparison with God, who served us even to the point of being betrayed and abandoned?  We can refuse to betray him for whom we were created, and not abandon what really matters in our lives.  We were put in this world to love him and our neighbours.  Everything else passes away, only this remains.  The tragedy we are experiencing summons us to take seriously the things that are serious, and not to be caught up in those that matter less; to rediscover that life is of no use if not used to serve others.  For life is measured by love.  So, in these holy days, in our  homes, let us stand before the Crucified One, the fullest measure of God’s love for us, and before the God who serves us to the point of giving his life, and let us ask for the grace to live in order to serve.  May we reach out to those who are suffering and those most in need.  May we not be concerned about what we lack, but what good we can do for others.

Behold my servant, whom I uphold.  The Father, who sustained Jesus in his Passion also supports us in our efforts to serve.  Loving, praying, forgiving, caring for others, in the family and in society: all this can certainly be difficult.  It can feel like a via crucis.  But the path of service is the victorious and lifegiving path by which we were saved.  I would like to say this especially to young people, on this Day which has been dedicated to them for thirty-five years now.  Dear friends, look at the real heroes who come to light in these days: they are not famous, rich and successful people; rather, they are those who are giving themselves in order to serve others.  Feel called yourselves to put your lives on the line.  Do not be afraid to devote your life to God and to others; it pays!  For life is a gift we receive only when we give ourselves away, and our deepest joy comes from saying yes to love, without ifs and buts.  As Jesus did for us.

The statement read, “Nemesis caught up with them when they called a woman, Jamila Sulaiman, on her phone that they were spirits (Aljannu), and directed her to go to the outskirts of Yar-Gamji village and drop the sum of N150,000 or risk her parents or children being killed by spirits.

Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze says decision between England and Nigeria won’t distract from progress

Eberechi Eze says he will not let a potential decision over his international future distract him from progressing.

The Crystal Palace midfielder is currently on England Under-21 duty, but he also qualifies for Nigeria through his parents and has trained with the Super Eagles in the past.

Nigeria could look to convince Eze to switch his international allegiance in future, but for now the 22-year-old says he is focused on playing for England.

“I can [still play for Nigeria]," said Eze. "At the moment, I’m focused on my England Under-21 camp. I don’t want to put any type of pressure on myself and try to force anytime now

“I’m focused on the Under-21s, playing for the Under-21s, training, trying to play as many games as I can, and I think that’s the most important thing right now for my development.”

Eze has been eased into life as a Premier League player by Palace boss Roy Hodgson since his £19.5million move from QPR over the summer.

But, after he scored his first Palace goal in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Leeds, Eze says he is learning at a rapid rate under Hodgson.

"At Palace, I'm learning a lot every day," he said. "You're put into a position where you have to learn quickly. I feel like I'm doing that, not only from the manager but the players in the team.

"It's a brilliant opportunity and I'm very grateful. Defensively I'm having to be a lot more aware and playing in two banks of four and being able to cope.

"As a player, that's not always been in my game, but I'm learning and I'm picking it up."

Hardened Criminals: Instead Of Them To Beg For Their Lives, See What These Thieves Did

Stealing is becoming the fastest way of making money by desperate, greedy, lazy and evil minded individuals. They take what belongs to others without any remorse. This is why area boys, otherwise called mobs deal with criminals, thieves and kidnappers who unluckily stepped into their traps. They usually set them ablaze or hand them over to the police after they may have caused them indelible injuries.

Yesterday, Monday 22nd March 2021, security operatives in University of Calabar (Unical) apprehended two phone thieves who stole phone amidst other criminal offenses. This was shared on twitter by Naija .
After they were arrested, the security personnel paraded them around chemistry department. After then, they took and shared a picture of them together.

Against all expectations, the two phone thieves who are supposed to feel remorse for what they did posed unconcerned in the picture. One of them was even smiling while the other one posed in style.

To worsen the whole issue, they were stripped, they were allowed to put on only boxers, instead of them to feel ashamed of themselves and what they did, one of them was smiling, the other one feels very much comfortable.

Indeed, they are hardened criminals. They are comfortable with what they do and they don't care about what may happen to them.

What do you think should be done to them?

Kano High Court sentences man to two years imprisonment for trafficking 30 women to Libya

A Federal High Court sitting in Kano has sentenced a 28-year-old man, Abubakar Suleiman, to two years imprisonment without an option of fine for trafficking 30 women to Libya.
In her ruling on Thursday, March 25, the presiding judge, Justice Sa’adatu Ibrahim-Mark, also ordered the convict to pay an additional N250,000, adding that he will serve additional three months in the correctional centre should he fail to pay the said amount.
The National Agency for the Prohibition In Persons (NAPTIP) had charged Suleiman, a resident of Kadawa Miltara Quarters in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano, with one count of trafficking in persons.
The Prosecution Counsel, Barrister Abdullahi Babale, told the court that the defendant on February 10 conspired with one Salele (a Nigerien) now at large and transferred 30 women from Edo and Lagos State to the Niger Republic through Babura border in Jigawa en route to Libya.
Barrister Babale added that the defendant deducted N5,000 each from the N50,000 paid per person by the sponsors in Libya and the Niger Republic as commission,
He also noted that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 13(2)(c) of the Trafficking in Persons(Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act 2015.
The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.
Babale then tendered the defendant’s statement and one of the victim’s statement as an exhibit and urged the court to sentence the defendant according to section 356 (2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015.
The Defence Counsel, Barr. M. B. Isa, pleaded for leniency on behalf of his client as a first time offender.
"The defendant is married and has five children. We pray the court to temper justice with mercy according to section 416 (2) of ACJA 2015." the counsel said.

Female teacher who had s3x with pupil, 16, after grooming him with X-rated pics avoids jail time

A teacher who had sex with her teenage pupil after grooming him with X-rated photos has been spared jail.
Shannon Parsons, 33, slept with the young student at his family home in Gravesham, Kent while his parents were at work, Maidstone Crown Court heard.
She had been exchanging "flirty and sexual" messages, as well as intimate photographs with him for several months.  But she waited until he was of legal age before having intercourse with him.
Parsons, from Welling, London, told cops she never thought of the teenager as a child, did not love him and it was "purely sexual.'' But she added she knew it was wrong and should have ended it, the court heard.  Parsons pleaded guilty to abuse of a position of trust by causing or inciting sexual activity with a child.
The relationship between the pair became public knowledge after parents of another pupil at the school raised concerns.   The court heard Parsons had been working at the school for three years when the sexual intercourse occurred in 2018.   Prosecutor Vivian Walters said she was considered a good teacher but was outed after parents of another student raised concerns with the school, leading to fellow pupils revealing she had had sex with the 16-year-old.
The boy told cops that he "got on well" with his teacher, and he had emailed her asking her to text him.  She then used her personal mobile phone to message him back. Walters told the court their conversations were initially about "school stuff" and home life but they started seeing during lunch and immediately the boy turned 16 their conversations became more sexual.
"He said she would message him constantly, they had exchanged sexual photographs of themselves and arranged to meet for sex."   The teenager told police he 'always felt a bit weird' about their conversations and he would also make excuses about being busy because although at times he was 'up for it', the fact of who she was 'put him off'.
Prosecutor Walters said: "They had started kissing and then had sex. He was 16. He said that after they had had sex he felt awkward. He didn't talk to her and ignored her on Instagram.
"She tried to talk to him on exam results day....but he said he couldn't be bothered. He also said he told a couple of mates (what had happened) which was how it got spread around.
"He said it affected him quite badly because 'everyone was talking about it'."
Sentencing her, Judge Philip Statman said exceptional circumstances, including her previous good character, genuine remorse, the impact of custody on her young daughter, and the extensive delay in court proceedings, meant she was given 12 months in prison, suspended for two years.
Judge Statman said that although she and the boy had had consensual sex, her behaviour had involved "significant planning and an element of grooming".
He said: "You were the adult, he was the student, you were in your 30s, he was 16, and you had a responsibility pursuant to your profession to behave in an appropriate manner towards him.
"You failed to comply with that which was required of you. It was one thing to have an interest in the education of a student and help a student to do his very best.
"But you crossed the important boundary and you fractured the relationship between student and teacher. The abuse of that position of trust highlights just how serious this type of criminality is."
The court heard that when a false rumour they had already had sex began to spread around the school she told the student to 'deal with it', fearing she would lose her job.   "She was determined not to meet up with him until he was over 16 but they messaged and talked about having sex," said Miss Walters.
"She said they exchanged intimate photographs but she said she hadn't solicited them. She said she thought he was 15 (at that time).
"She said she wasn't in love with him, it was purely sexual and she never thought of him as a child.
"She agreed it was not okay to do what she did but felt he wanted it to happen."   Although interviewed by police, the court was told the boy did not want to provide a victim personal statement.
His father said however that his son's general behaviour had not been 'negatively affected', although he had experienced some bullying as a result.
Simon Connolly, who defended the teacher, said Parsons had admitted her guilt 'unreservedly' and made no attempt to either avoid responsibility or blame others.
She was also said to be suffering from mental health issues at the time and has since been diagnosed with what is known as a stress-related adjustment disorder. "It was a single incident, there was no attempt to repeat it and was followed immediately by regret," Mr Connolly told the court.
"She has lost a job she worked hard to achieve and dearly loved. Of course, that is her own fault but that in itself is a punishment for her."
Connolly added that immediate custody was unnecessary and 'marginally' not in the public interest.
As part of her sentence, Parsons must undertake 40 days of a rehabilitation activity requirement.
She was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order for five years and must sign on the sex offenders' register for 10 years.
She will also be barred from working with children and vulnerable adults.
