#540MILLION FOUND IN GTB ACCT OF ANAMBRA STATE PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER

ICPC explained that the teacher who was on a monthly salary of N76,000 as of the time of her arrest in 2020, had N540 million in her bank account with Guaranty Trust Bank.

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of N120 million traced to a primary school teacher, Roseline Egbuha, and her accomplices, to the federal government.

The court also ordered the forfeiture of cars, traced to Mrs Egbuha, a teacher with Ozala Primary School, Abagana, Anambra State.

A statement by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), said on Thursday that the judge, D.U Okorowo, also ordered the forfeiture of cars, traced to the teacher.

ICPC’s spokesperson, Azuka Ogugua, said the court issued the order on 26 or 27 June but the commission’s lawyers only obtained the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the order on Wednesday.

The commission said the court order followed an ex parte motion filed in 2021 following allegations surrounding N540 million linked to Mrs Egbuha and her alleged accomplices.

How suspects tried to hide funds

ICPC explained that the teacher who was on a monthly salary of N76,000 as of the time of her arrest in 2020 had N540 million in her bank account with Guaranty Trust Bank.

It said investigations by ICPC revealed Mrs Egbuha was involved in money laundering thereby prompting the commission to place a Post-No-Debit (PND) on her account.

The suspect, however, obtained a court order from the Federal High Court, Abuja, lifting the PND placed on the account, according to ICPC. She was said to have then promptly withdrawn the money and distributed it into multiple bank accounts owned by Bureau de Change operators and private individuals.

ICPC listed Mrs Egbuha’s alleged accomplices to include: James Erebouye, Emon Okune, Chisom Iwueke, Alonge Ojo, Maureen Chidimma, Owoyemi Mayowa and Ejeaka Ifeoma. It also said two private companies were charged to court over fraudulent activities and warehousing proceeds of the alleged crimes.

ICPC’s lawyer, Adesina Raheem, had in his court filings sought an order for the final forfeiture of the money and cars to the federal government.

The judge, after taking arguments from lawyers to the ICPC and the respondents, ruled that the funds found in seven individual bank accounts and that of two private companies should be forfeited to the federal government.

Breakdown of forfeited assets

The money assets covered by the order are N30.8 million in a Polaris Bank account of Dorason Construction Ltd, N17.4 million traced to a Sterling Bank account of James Erebouye and N16.4 million found in the Zenith Bank account of Dybako and Sons Nig Ltd.

Another alleged accomplice, Ojo Alonge, forfeited N14.1 million traced to two separate accounts with First Bank and Ecobank respectively. Owoyemi Mayowa, on her part, forfeited N7.1 million held in Zenith Bank.

Also forfeited are the sums of N8.2 million, N9.7 million, N6.5 million and N122,100 kept in different bank accounts by Emon Okune, Chisom Iwueke, Maureen Chidimma and Ejeaka Ifeoma respectively.

Other items forfeited by the respondents are Toyota Lexus and Venza sport utility vehicles.

MAN RAPES TWO WITCHES CAUGHT IN HIS COMPOUND

A 43 year-old widower from Saselamani outside of Giyani south Africa locked two women inside his house and sexually assaulted them for hours.

According to his neighbours, who were ready to burn the suspected witches, Alfred took quite an unusual route in handling the situation.

“There was no doubt we caught them performing witchcraft, and they were supposed to be burned. On my way to work at around 4 AM, I saw the two naked women stuck inside Alfred’s yard.”

“I called him to come out, and I was rounding up other community members to bring petrol and tires to do what needed to be done. Alfred said not to worry. He will deal with them his way and dragged them inside his house and locked the doors.”

His neighbour, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he heard screams and moaning coming from the house, and Alfred was refusing to open the door.

“I decided to call the police who arrived a few hours later. I thought if he killed them both alone, he was going to jail for murder as opposed to mob justice, the police came and kicked down the door, and it was something I’ve never seen before. The floor was wet with a mixture of his manly fluid and their womanly fluids. He had tied them to the table. He was acting like an animal.”

 

Police took all three of them to the local police station, and they were all released that same day. The women refused to open a case against Alfred even though he abused them for over three hours. In his own words, Alfred said he did what he did because he figured they already bewitched him.

He said a prophet told him two women are busy putting a curse on him not to marry again, so he wanted to take his sexual frustration out on them.

The police said they let Alfred go after the three of them shook hands and agreed not to bother each other again. “Alfred wanted the two women to say they will no longer bewitch him if they want to be safe from him.”

A run-of-the-mill treasure hunt organized by a father for his daughter goes one step further thanks to a long-held secret.

Childhood is made of memories and a feeling of adventure and freedom that is hard to replicate as an adult. Many times, our parents have worked hard to create these magical moments for us by carefully crafting special moments.

One father’s long-term plan finally came to fruition when he sent his daughter on an amazing treasure hunt.

Before his daughter was even born, one young man decided that he wanted to make sure his future child’s early life would be as magical and fun as possible. He thought of all of the things he would have loved to experience as a child, and made an amazing plan. He built a secret room off of the bedroom that would one day become his daughter’s. When she was born, he knew that he would need to be patient in order to pull off the coolest surprise. 

The father waited and waited, finally setting his plan into action when his daughter was seven years old. He handed her a box filled with trinkets and old hardware, and asked her to rifle through it. Occasionally, she would hand him small items that she thought were interesting.

Then, finally, her face lit up when she handed him something she had discovered at the bottom of the box: a treasure map! Dad was just as excited, and they worked on following the map together with the little girl’s mother and grandfather.

OBASANJO: Its Time For The Youth To Take Possession Of Leadership.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Saturday, said everything about him, including his emergence as both a military Head of State and President of Nigeria, was by accident.

Obasanjo, who was an ex-military Head of State before he was elected as a civilian President in 1999, said he was a farmer by choice and not by accident.

Speaking on Saturday on a live radio interview with Segun Odegbami on Eagles7 Sports 103.7 FM, Abeokuta, Obasanjo said he was always proud to be addressed as a farmer.

Odegbami had asked Obasanjo to speak about what he termed his “romance with farming.”

In response, the former president said, “I don’t like the word you used, ‘romance with farming’. I am a farmer. What do you mean by romance. Everything I have done in my life is by accident. The only thing that is not accidental is farming. Every other thing that I’ve been is by accident. And you called that romance? No! What do you mean by romance?

“You know my beginning. I was born and bred in a village. I went to school by accident. My father just said, ‘won’t you do something different?’ So I went into farming.

“When you look at countries that have made it, they developed on agriculture. First, for the purpose of food security; second, for the purpose of processing what they get from their farms, which is the beginning of industrialisation. Third, to give it out as export, which is for the purpose of foreign exchange; and fourth, as a means of generating employment for the youth.”

Meanwhile, Obasanjo advised Nigerian youths to take over leadership positions right now.

Obasanjo said youths should not allow anyone to address them as leaders of tomorrow, saying the tomorrow may never come.

Obasanjo said some corrupt leaders would destroy the so-called tomorrow if the younger generation failed to rise up and take their future in their hands.

He said, “My advice for Nigerian youths is that, never let anybody tell you that you are the leaders of tomorrow. If you wait for tomorrow before you take over leadership, that tomorrow may not come. They will destroy it.

Northern Group Removes APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Shettima As Patron Over Comment Of Peter Obi Being President Only In Igbo Land

The youth group also called on Nigerians to reject politicians that promote bigotry and other tendencies that threaten peace and unity.

APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Kashim Shettima has been removed as a patron of the Coalition of Arewa Youths for Peace and National Development over the divisive comment he made about Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Recall that Shettima had in an interview on Arise TV last weekend, questioned the capacity and competence of the former Governor of Anambra State, to lead the country as president.

The Northern group pointed out that Shettima had “in a derogatory tone,'' said that the LP flag-bearer could best be a “president in Igboland”, thereby attracting criticisms from thousands of the latter’s supporters, who identify themselves as “Obi-dients” among other well meaning Nigerians.”

Shettima was also quoted saying;

”The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi has no political base and structure to win the next election in 2023. As far as I am concerned, he’s politically structureless with little or no experience to lead this country.

“Nigeria requires a technocrat and a sound administrator who will continue from where President Muhammadu Buhari stopped, not someone who will come to take us back to the era of PDP. Nigerians don’t want that.

“Presidential position is not for the unprepared neither is it an all comers’ affair. Peter Obi can only become a President in Igboland but definitely not in Nigeria. Nigeria is too big for him to handle.

“He has no leadership ideology nor experiences like President Muhammadu and our incoming President in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

COAYPANU condemned the comment, describing it as “provocative”. The youth group called on Nigerians “to reject politicians that promote bigotry,and other tendencies that threaten peace and unity.”

They added that ”Shettima’s attack on Obi smacked off perceived bigotry.” The statement released by the group's National President, Alhaji Mohammed Gwadabe, read;

“Considering the weight of the provocative,divisive and reckless statement made by our patron, Alhajji Kashim Shettima which is against the spirit of unity we stand for, and following consultations from members across the 19 states of Northern Nigeria, and approval from National Executive Committee in our emergency congress held, we, by this statement, announced the immediate removal of the APC Vice Presidential candidate as our patron.

“We are ashamed to associate ourselves with someone of Shettima’s standing who, despite piloting the affairs of his native Borno State as governor for two consecutive terms, still does not know that Nigeria is for everybody, irrespective of tribe, religion and cultural backgrounds.

“The reckless and retrogressive statement he made against Peter Obi and Igbo presidency is his personal view and not that of our organisation which he was a patron at the time of the provocative statement.”

The youths stated that the caustic statement was a reflection of the former Borno governor’s state of mind.

The statement added;

“The era where Arewa youths just accept whatever choices, or decisions made by the APC, is gone for good, and that point must not be taken for granted.

“Henceforth, Northern youths, who are distinguished in every right, shall vote character and competence, while relegating tribe and religion to the background, as far as elections that will decide their future are concerned.

“We call on all well-meaning Nigerians, especially our youths and Northern elites, to, in the interest of our diversity and unity, condemn – in the strongest term – this unpatriotic statement capable of igniting ethnic tension in the already-charged polity.

“We hold that such crass propagation of bigotry must not be allowed in a decent society such as ours that is multi-ethnic, multi-religious, and secular in nature.

“In demonstration of our zero-tolerance for rascality, and chauvinism under whatever guise, we have caused the removal of Senator Kashim Shettima, as our patron.

“We are mindful of the fact that, as youths from the Northern region, we are, no doubt, at the receiving end of the insecurity plaguing the nation, with attendant deaths, destruction, and hunger.

“As a matter of fact, there is hardly any part of the North that is peaceful today, as insurgency, banditry and kidnapping have become second nature.

“May we, therefore, use this opportunity to task our leaders to eschew bitterness in their pursuit of political power, knowing that as a fragile nation, all efforts must be geared towards the stability and peace of Nigeria.”

Breaking News: Aviation Workers To Shut Down Airports In Support Of Asuu.

The Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP), has called on the Federal Government to end the lingering strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) or they will shut down the Aviation sector in solidarity with university teachers.

In a statement by the general secretary of ANAP, Comrade Abdulrasaq Saidu, he called on President Mohammadu Buhari to end the strike without further delay.

ANAP noted that the continued stay at home by students of tertiary institutions has added to social vices in the country as students now engaged in some unpalatable activities capable of destroying their future.

ANAP threatened that they will join in the strike in solidarity by closing the aviation sector if government did not take urgent necessary steps to address ASUU’s demands.

The Association noted that the over four-month strike has ridiculed the educational system and making it a laughing stock before the world.

PDP URGES INEC TO DISQUALIFY PETER OBI AND BOLA TINUBU

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reacted to a suit by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seeking the disqualification of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Peter Obi from the 2023 presidential election.

News reports that the PDP on Thursday had filed a lawsuit against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to stop Labour Party’s Obi and the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu from selecting Kashim Shettima and Datti Baba-Ahmed as their running mates.

The PDP also asked the court to rule that Tinubu and Obi cannot run for office unless they do so with their respective former running mates, Kabiru Masari and Doyin Okupe.

In the originating summons with suit number FHC/ABJ/CS/1016/2022, the PDP is seeking an order barring the INEC from replacing the running mates of Tinubu and Obi.

The first to seventh respondents in the case are INEC, APC, Tinubu, Masari, Labour Party, Obi, and Okupe.

The PDP asked the court to determine if by the combined interpretation of Section 142(1) of the constitution, Section 29(1), 31, and 33 of the Electoral Act 2022, and INEC’s timetable, Tinubu and Obi are bound by the submission of Masari and Okupe respectively as their running mates.

Speaking about the suit during an Arise TV interview on Friday, Festus Okoye, the INEC Commissioner for Information and Voter Education Committee, said only the court could decide if the presidential candidates who swapped their running mates could be disqualified on those bases.

He further added that the commission is unaware if they had been served with the court processes as the INEC chairman, himself and other national commissioners had just returned from Osun State where they held meetings with stakeholders ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

He said; “So, I am not aware of whether we’ve been served with any document relating to any suit of the complexion that you have talked about. But let me just say that if a matter is in court, the matter is sub-judice and we are not supposed to comment on it. Secondly, when political parties submitted the names of their presidential candidates and their vice-presidential candidates, there was no provision for a placeholder in the forms they submitted.

“This is the particular position that we are following. In the case of Senatorial candidates and House of Representatives candidates and so on and so forth, it is mandatory for them to hold fresh party primaries (after) the withdrawal of their candidates.”

Okoye added, “But in the case of a presidential candidate and in the case of a governorship candidate, the political parties nominate a vice presidential candidate and also a deputy governorship candidate. Whether they are candidates or not and whether they are supposed to go into the fresh 14-day primaries, I am not in a position to make a determination in relation to that.”

Garri Drinking In Church Meeting.

It is well known that garri drinking is a normal meal in the life of some people like people in school, out of poor condition and maybe out of the likeness of it. Students in school gave it a name known as 'Asoki'. Drinking Garri, for some it is a state of poverty,to some it is an act of likeness(addiction) etc.

Some believe that drinking garri is not good for the health while others says that it does no harm when been taken in a moderate way with some ingredients that that can nourish the body system. There are different ingredients that can be used for garri drinking like sugar,milk,groundnut,water,honey etc.

Today it is seen in a parish at Onitsha Anambra State as st.Joseph Zone 1 parish cyon members host there meeting with garri drinking. It was done with joy as one family to have fun. They made the garri with ingredients like sugar,honey,groundnut,peak tin milk,water,which made it to become rich for the body system.The President of the the Zone said "it is not that a thing of poverty but rather a thing of joy as one body in Christ".
