Meet The Highest Paid Footballer In Nigerian Premier League Who Earns 1.2 Million Naira Per Month

What comes to your mind when you hear about the Nigerian Premier Football League? Most people probably didn't think that the NPFL pays their players well. Let me introduce you to the highest paid Player in the NPFL.

Meet Theophilus Afelohai
Born on April 7,1990, Theophilus is a shot stopper who has been widely known for his exceptional goal keeping skills over the years. The Shot-stopper who previously played for the lower division started his NPFL journey for Kano Pillars where he shined so brightly. In 2015, Theophilus moved to Enyimba where he was widely known.

In 2020, the 32 Year old signed for Port Harcourt based side Rivers United for a record fee of 4 Million Naira. He currently earns 1.2 million Naira as he surpassed Fc Ifeanyi Ubah's striker Godwin Obaje who currently earns a whopping sum of 1 million Naira monthly.

Theophilus has however been unable to express his talent on international level as he was only able to perform in the under 23 stage who failed to qualify for the 2012 Olympic games in London.

He is famously known to have the similar qualities with Nigerian legend Vincent Enyeama. Though he still lacks the higher level of ball distribution which a modern goalkeeper possess, he is still a force to reckon with.

Who needs to travel to Europe afterall, when you can have all the goodies here in Nigeria.
