#540MILLION FOUND IN GTB ACCT OF ANAMBRA STATE PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHER

ICPC explained that the teacher who was on a monthly salary of N76,000 as of the time of her arrest in 2020, had N540 million in her bank account with Guaranty Trust Bank. The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of N120 million traced to a primary school teacher, Roseline Egbuha, and her accomplices, to the federal government. The court also ordered the forfeiture of cars, traced to Mrs Egbuha, a teacher with Ozala Primary School, Abagana, Anambra State. A statement by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), said on Thursday that the judge, D.U Okorowo, also ordered the forfeiture of cars, traced to the teacher. ICPC’s spokesperson, Azuka Ogugua, said the court issued the order on 26 or 27 June but the commission’s lawyers only obtained the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the order on Wednesday. GUNMEN KILLED MAN KNOWN AS UDALA OF UKE IN ABATETE ANAMBRA STATE.

Chief Philip Udala, Chairman of Udala FC, Uke , Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State has been assassinated. According to reports, the gunmen stormed the community in two highlander SUVs and one Sienna car on Tuesday night July 13, shooting sporadically while also setting three vehicles ablaze The assailants abducted one unidentified young man from Uke known as Chief Philip Udala after several shots fired at him 'failed to penetrate.' He was dumped in the trunk of the vehicle and whisked away to an unknown destination. NIGERIA ARRESTS NNAMDI KANU

The federal government of Nigeria has announced the arrest of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu .Kanu has been on the run for  three years after he was accused of arson by an Abuja federal high court.  According to the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN) on Tuesday, Kanu was arrested and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday.The AGF according to NAN stated that the IPOB leader was arrested based on a collaborative effort between security agencies in Nigeria and Interpol.  Recall that Nnamdi Kanu was on trial in an Abuja court when he fled Nigeria in 2017, following the invasion of his house in Abia State by security agencies. The presidency has shared some of his photos this morning which showed him in a handcuff with some security officials surrounding him.

BAKASSI BOYS IN AWKA, ANAMBRA STATE

There are growing concerns over the suspected return of a disbanded security group known as Bakassi Boys to the streets of Awka , in Anambra State on Monday. It is not clear who is behind the group. But with the growing insecurity, the resurgence of the dreaded outfit in the southeastern region, might compound the already vexing situation. The dreaded Bakassi Boys vigilante group, who engaged in jungle justice in Anambra State during the time of former governor, Chinwoke Mbadinuju , allegedly resurfaced after two decades to crush cultists and other criminals in the state. The Guardian newspaper gathered that the group was seen moving around the state capital in two vans, singing and warning criminals to stay away from the area. Dangote who was represented by the company’s group executive director government and strategic relations, Mansur Ahmed said so far over four hundred thousand poor women have benefited from the programme in the country. He said in Bauchi State, N200million is currently being disbursed to vulnerable women across the 20 local government areas.

WOMAN GIVES BIRTH TO 10 CHILDREN AT ONCE

A South African woman has given birth to 10 children at a go, breaking the world record that had been created by a Malian woman who welcomed nonuplets a few months ago. Thirty-seven-year-old Gosiame Thamara Sithole gave birth to the decuplets on the night of Monday, June 7; the mother had expected to give birth to eight children as an antenatal scan had shown but two more babies were found during delivery.According to a report by Pretoria News and other news outlets, Thamara delivered her seven boys and three girls through a caesarian section in a Pretoria hospital.She is now a mother of 12 as she already has six-year-old twins. The Nigerian prophet known as  Temitope Balogun Joshua(TB Joshua) Is dead. This was confirmed on Saturday when he left the mountain during ministration which was unusual and was not seen again. Later the church members were in tears saying news came to them that the prophet was dead. SENATE PASSES BILL ABOLISHING HND, BSc DICHOTOMY

The Senate yesterday passed a bill that prohibits employers in the country from discriminating between first degree and Higher National Diploma (HND) holders. The passage of the bill was sequel to the consideration of a report by the Joint Committee on Establishment and Public Service Matters, and Tertiary Institutions and TETFUND. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday lamented the current state of Nigeria. Obasanjo insisted that bad leadership had made Nigeria drip in bitterness and sadness. GRANT IGBOS BIAFRA, NORTHERN GROUPS TELL BUHARI

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to grant Southeast Biafra. The groups said Buhari should hand the Southeast Biafra as a means of ending the current unrest in the region and other parts of the country. The groups in a statement by its spokesman, Abdul-Azeez Sulaiman, said this while reacting to the recent ‘civil war’ threat by President Buhari. DEAD BODIES OVERFLOW MORTUARIES, IN OWERRI AS BLOODSHED CONTINUES

It has been a terrible moment for residents of Imo State, especially those in Owerri, the State capital in the past few weeks following spate of killings caused by activities of suspected unknown Gun men. Imo State after the April 4th 2021 attack on Owerri Prison and Police Headquarters has not known peace. The peace that reigned was more of the peace of graveyard as no week or day passes without clashes between the security agencies and unknown gunmen which records deaths. When our correspondent visited Federal Medical Centre, Owerri morgue, corpses of dead person were littered around the place and beyond the capacity of the mortuary. This newspaper however gathered that the quantum of corpses littered at the premises may be as a result of dumping of dead bodies at the mortuary after each shooting arising from clashes. The Chairman Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa, has declared that the Nigerian Government will not bow to the demands of those he described as “insurgents” in the South-East. FULANI HERDSMEN KILLED 30 IGBO INDIGENES IN BENUE.

On Sunday, suspected Fulani shepherds attacked and killed more than 30 Igbo- speaking indigenous people living in the Ado local government area in Benue state. Local government area leader James Oche confirmed this in a Facebook post on Monday sharing videos and photos of the incident. Suspicious shepherds allegedly attacked Ndigwe, Ataloga, Odokem, Ekile, Nduobasi, Ekpufu, Obakota, and other nearby LGA villages. He urged the people of the area to defend themselves, adding that the era of the locked arms was over. Following the sit-at-home ordered by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) to commemorate the 54th anniversary of the declaration of the Sovereign State of Biafra, South East Governors’ Forum Chairman, Dave Umahi, has said May 30 would be set aside as a day to remember millions of Igbo that lost their lives during the civil war. Governor Umahi of Ebonyi State, who stated this during a television interview, yesterday, said there was the need to set aside a date to honour the Igbo who died during the three-year war, insisting there was nothing wrong with it. SUSPECTED BODY PARTS DEALER ARRESTED IN IBADAN

Operatives of the Oyo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun have apprehended Mutius Abdul-Rasheed, a suspected human parts dealer. The 40-year-old when interrogated said he is part of a syndicate that exhumes the corpse of deceased persons and sells their vital organs to prospective buyers. Abdul-Rasheed who was paraded with some of the human parts said; ”We only exhume bodies that are known to us because we must know the dead person when he or she was alive.We must also know his or her name as well as the mother’s name.Knowing the mother’s name of the dead person that we want to sell the body parts attracts extra cost from those that buy the human parts from us.” Commandant of Amotekun Corps in the state, Col Olayinka Olayanju (retd), while parading the suspect, said items recovered from the suspect included guns, charms, decaying body parts, motorcycles, and a car. Olayanju said unnamed individuals have been “mounting pressure on him to release the suspect.”
