JUNGLE JUSTICE:- YOUNG MAN SET ABLAZE FOR STEALING BIKE IN OKIGWE, IMO STATE

A man name David a native of Agu was set ablaze in Okigwe, Imo State.it was said that he was caught stealing a bike and the angry youths had no other option than to set him on fire to teach other criminals to back off from there criminal acts.

Jungle Justice can be said to be anything but just. It is a form of mob rule in which people take the law into their own hands and punish alleged offenders for perceived heinous crimes. It is also referred to as mob or street justice and can lead to extra-judicial killing. It is also passing sentence on the equality of belligerents in non- international armed conflict.And this have been happening in SouthEast especially in Anambra State where more than 10 people have been burnt alive by the angry youths in not less two months for stealing because of the insecurity tossing all over place and also Bakassi Boys taking over some part of Anambra State giving some criminals Jungle Justice.

To some;it is good because it will reduce crime wave in the nation since police are not working while to some;the criminals are not supposed to killed immediately because there are supposed to be given second chance.

Following the sit-at-home ordered by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) to commemorate the 54th anniversary of the declaration of the Sovereign State of Biafra, South East Governors’ Forum Chairman, Dave Umahi, has said May 30 would be set aside as a day to remember millions of Igbo that lost their lives during the civil war. Governor Umahi of Ebonyi State, who stated this during a television interview, yesterday, said there was the need to set aside a date to honour the Igbo who died during the three-year war, insisting there was nothing wrong with it.
